GM Style/Philosophy:
I like to have a deep team that can roll 4 lines. I like 2 way players that can play defense and I build from the net out.
Short-term plans for the team:
This is a highly competitive team with a great base so I plan on building around Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom, Green. I plan to add complimentary players to win my ultimate goal the Stanley Cup.
Long-term plans for the team:
I plan on keeping youth in the system and replenishing my retiring players with players developed in the AHL.
You have a team consisting of nothing but basically one aging franchise player, but the team is in first place. You get offered a great package of prospects and picks for your aging, one "franchise" player. What do you do?
I would take the deal and rebuild so my team is competitive in the long run.
