earlier this month, the Toronto Maple Leafs have brought in a new General Manager after going some time without one, the new GM was not given much oppurtinuty to do much as the trade deadline had already passed, however he was able to make his 1st move as Leafs GM, by signing 2011-2012 art ross trophy winner Andrei Kostitsyn to a 4 year 18.5 million dollar contract seem here playing for Belarus in the world championships We got word from Andrei about signing" i am glad to sign an extension to stay in toronto, i think it is a great hockey town and i like the GM's vision, id tell anyone to sign here" otherwise the roster was set until the end of the playoffs, which the leafs were ultimatly ousted by the defending champs, the Washington Capitals and their high powered offense, in 5 games, it is reproted that the new GM has already got 2 major shakeup deals in the works, which could mean centerpieces such as Dion Phaneuf nd Phil Kessel may be on their way out, as per reports the GM, has addressed these rumors: "get off my lawn! its 3:30 AM!!!!" we may have picked a poor time to get word. later in the day we got an actual word with the GM "yes, we have a couple big deals in the works, the way the team perfored in the playoffs was not what we need here in Toronto if we want to win a Cup any time soon, you folks will just have to wait until after playoffs to find out whats gonna happen"
